Key Proteo Advances Global Wilson Disease Validation: EASL 2026 Abstracts Accepted, Selected as Partner for Spanish National Grant Study

Key Proteo is pleased to announce that abstracts presenting our ATP7B proteomic testing data have been accepted at EASL 2026 — the annual congress of the European Association for the Study of the Liver and the preeminent international forum for liver disease research.

The abstracts report high sensitivity for Wilson Disease detection in high-prevalence populations, with a validated AUC of 0.94 in Gran Canary Island; Sardinia cohort data are pending due to limited sample size.

For families in these regions, this means Wilson Disease can be identified at birth — before symptoms emerge and before irreversible organ damage occurs. Early detection is the difference between a managed condition and a missed one.

Alongside the EASL acceptance, Key Proteo has been selected as the peptide analysis partner for a Spanish National Grant study led by Principal Investigator Dr. Merino, enrolling approximately 150 Wilson Disease patients and controls, with KP peptide analysis deploying in 2026. This is the first independently funded national grant to validate our technology outside the United States — a meaningful marker of international scientific confidence in our platform.
